So where are these Ponzi schemers located? You may think that the person who stole your money or made your fake investment is out of the country; they're in some foreign land, and sometimes they are. But many times, they're right here in the US. Here's a perfect example of somebody who did a huge Ponzi scheme and was arrested in Florida. This person ran a fake investment scheme for years, siphoning millions of dollars and traveling around the world using the money they stole from Bitcoin scams. What they would do is tell their investors they were going to make a big return; they would show them fake account statements that they had made a lot of money, and the next thing you know, it blows up. And this happened back, you know, six or seven years ago, in 2017. Finally, this person was located and arrested in Florida, and hopefully now more of the assets can be recovered. In this case, some of the assets have already been recovered. There were some asset searches done, and some of the victims got their money back. But hopefully, the fact that they're now located and can be brought to justice will get more of the money. And this is what comes up a lot. A lot of people think, "How are these people ever going to get caught?" If you spend enough time, attention, and due diligence, the people get caught. Where they don't get caught is if everybody lets them slip through the cracks and does not pursue victim retribution against the scammers.
