Here's one we can't wait to see your comments on. Remember back last year when California announced it was banning gas vehicles and requiring 100% electric vehicle sales by 2035? Well, what about Wyoming? Wyoming wants to phase out EVs by 2035, meaning that you won't be able to buy an EV in Wyoming by that time. They're doing this to ensure the stability of the oil and gas industry, flipping the script. Instead of saying gas vehicles are banned, they're saying electric vehicles are banned. Now, this is not a rule yet—it's still in process.

There's a lot of debate about this, but what do you think? Is this something that you support? Is this something that has merit, or is it just sour grapes for a state that does a lot of fossil fuel development?

Look, electric vehicles have some advantages. You don't have to stop at gas stations, and you can charge at your home. But they are more expensive. We did a video last week where they were planning a 40% price increase on vehicles for electric drivetrains. We've also talked about where the electric grid may not be able to support it. But, all those things being equal, if electric vehicles end up having the same usability, range, and convenience as gas vehicles, what's the downside?

Well, the downside could be that those things don't come to be true—if there aren't places to charge them, if they don't have the range, or if they’re not capable of hauling, then it defeats the purpose of having a vehicle in the first place. There's still a lot that's not known about the how and why electric vehicles are being pushed or promoted.

So, the state of Wyoming is trying to do something about it. They're trying to ban electric vehicles to see if maybe that's a way to level the playing field between gas and electric vehicles.
