Well the South Dakota department of revenue which handles the motor vehicles. We'll no longer be printing paper titles due to paper supply issues. A lot of times people will think that titles are just printed on black paper The problem is the paper used for titles has built in security features just like money. Just like currency to prevent fraud. And the printing will resume sometime in February of 2023 Well right now it's the beginning of November. So you're talking four or five months away before they start printing titles again. Well if you're a vehicle owner and you need a title…How'd that how's that gonna work out for You? Remember a title is not a document just printed on blank paper It's printed on security paper just like money or currency or. any other, certified document. The reason for it is you don't want to forge title because whoever has the title with their name on it is the owner of the vehicle. So if a vehicle is worth $10,000 a vehicle title with your name on it is the equivalent of a $10,000 bill. So you can't just print it on blank paper In addition, you can't buy one from a company, you can't download one from the internet in the same way you can't buy or download a hundred dollar bill It's something which is a security instrument issued by a government agency…If the government agency. Can't get you one for four or five months. You're not going to get one somewhere else If you live in South Dakota and we've seen these delays before we've seen them in other states like New York or, even Texas had a delay at some point. So if you need a vehicle title and you're in South Dakota. You may be in for a long delay. You do want to get your application in because they're going to print them in the order they were received. But a vehicle title is a legal government document issued only by a government agency You can't buy one from the internet You can't download one from the internet. You have to get it. It's like money it's got security features on it. and it's only issued at the government level So make sure you get your proper paperwork in, but if you are in South Dakota, you may be in for a delay and even other states, it's not something you can download from the internet You have to have a printed title certificate. And delays can be involved if you're dealing with a government agency and you want to make sure your paperwork is right.
