Is AI Sharing Our Secrets? Unmasking the Digital Confidant
Download MP3Can you trust AI to keep a secret? Artificial intelligence is being used for all kinds of productive tasks. The problem is that, in order to train the AI robot or artificial intelligence machine to do these tasks, it has to learn. The way it learns is by reading, listening to, and watching millions and millions of websites, videos, conversations, and audios to gather information about how humans work and what their conversations entail. Some of those conversations might be private, while others might be internal work communications.
AI might be reading emails, memos, and other internal communications that go back and forth. Some of this information might include personal details. Every company has certain proprietary information about its internal workings. Even if it's not specifically about a product or service, it reflects how the company functions, the way employees relate to each other, and the types of communications they have—such as collaborations, mentorships, and internal alliances. As the AI bots collect this information and use it for training, who’s to say to whom they might release it?
The bots may inadvertently share private information with third parties. In the meantime, remember that you have access to live one-on-one consultations with a licensed, certified expert in this subject and many others. We want to hear your questions and provide you with expert advice on your options, as well as insights into your situation.
Other companies may also inadvertently share sensitive information, possibly even with a relative or friend who wasn’t supposed to have access to it. These AI tools are very robust and complex—so complex that no one person fully understands how they work. Certainly, an algorithm is written to provide instructions, but once it's released into the wild, no one monitors its every action. It’s simply impossible. This is part of what makes AI so powerful: it can operate faster and handle far more tasks than a human could accomplish in a lifetime. But it also means that no one can keep track of all that the AI is doing.
So, where does that leave privacy? Through mere accidental actions, AI might be collecting information that seems harmless on its own, but when combined with other pieces of information, it could reveal a lot about a person’s activities, thoughts, company strategies, or future plans. This could really put privacy at risk.
We’d love to know your opinion on this! Let us know in the comments what you think the future of AI privacy looks like and how we can protect ourselves from having our secrets disclosed to unintended parties.
