How do you correct a vehicle title problem If you have a car or truck that you've purchased and didn't get a title or lost the title and there's some problem getting a switched over how do you fix those problems Well first understand this Every single problem Every process Can always be fixed by yourself You can do this yourself You don't need to pay anybody If you don't want to you certainly don't need to pay hundreds of dollars to do this Every legitimate solution has a do it yourself solution for that title problem First start out with identifying the problem Is there a lien on the car Is the prior owner deceased Does it need an inspection is there some change of ownership prior to you Was that a jump title then figure out what's the right paperwork Every state has dozens of different title processes that could be used So if there's 12 processes in 50 states That's hundreds of different possible paperwork choices Make sure you get the right one fill it out very carefully The most common reason they title application is rejected is because the paperwork is not filled out properly It could be a very small thing like checking the wrong box writing the VIN number in the wrong box maybe signing in the wrong place Read it reread it read it a third time before you send it in and you'll have a high probability of it not getting rejected Also don't try to fix things that are not a problem If you have a bill of sale Or some prior record of a vehicle I don't try to present that if it's not needed because it might just complicate things And at the same time if you go to the DMV and you have all the right paperwork and you're having problems with the agent you're working with Take a step back wait in line again talk to a different agent In many cases a DMV employee may not know the right way to do a process and you might have it done Right but they may not be aware of it Remember it's a high turnover job at the DMV and there's many laws that they have to be aware of So they might not know the exact scenario for your vehicle So talking to a different person talking to a supervisor might fix that vehicle title problem that you've been working with for months
