Free & Low-Cost Resources for Fraud Victims: Where to Get Help
Download MP3If you have been a victim of some type of financial fraud, you may be struggling to find out how you can get help, how you can get someone on your side, and how you can get assistance for recovering your losses. Well, there are a lot of ways to go about it. As you know, our company, as a licensed private investigative agency, has worked with victims for a long time, and it's a huge group of people.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, fraud losses topped $10 billion in 2023, and it's even higher than that in 2024. In fact, 2024 was probably about $14 billion. So, there's no shortage of fraud victims out there. We've had a difficult time over the years dealing with victims because a lot of times, victims either don't want to spend more money on professional investigative services or forensic analysis. However, private companies really can't do these cases for free because they have bills to pay.
Well, here is an option called the JFP—the Justice for Fraud Victims Project. It's part of Gonzaga University and has been around for about 15 years. It’s a group of college students, faculty, law enforcement, and experts in fraud prevention and examination that provide pro bono services to those affected by financial fraud.
Now, they may not be able to take every case, but you probably want to contact them along with other professionals. You can also contact us through our consultation link to get more information about what’s available to you without making a big commitment to a case. Additionally, you can contact your local law enforcement and the JFP to see what your options are and what resources are available. That way, you don’t feel like you’re out there on your own or that nobody has your back.
This is a good way to start getting allies, collaborations, and people who will stand with you as a team so your loss isn’t just on your shoulders. You want to be able to tell your story, have someone listen to what happened, and maybe even take action. This is a great resource for fraud victims. Definitely look into it—but don’t make it your only stop.
