First Gear: Navigating the Journey to Electronic Car Titles

Okay, well here's the first batch of good news from the long process of getting electronic titles and even electronic signatures. Our Coalition of title professionals called EART had one of their first submissions to a government agency, and this is for the state of Massachusetts. Their registry is considering doing electronic title and signature on documents. This first submission, part of the Coalition, was a Desa auto auctions car titles, including Carvana and a bunch of other Automotive Industries. This is a support for electronic signature and titling enhancements for Massachusetts, done through their RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles), and it's trying to get authorization to facilitate additional electronic transfers while offering vehicles for sale while awaiting a certificate of title and permits. This is a very good first step. We have some other ones in the works in the state of New York. We have some for electronic liens, but follow along on this channel for updates on progress of getting to electronic titles, getting rid of the paper bureaucracy that we all have to deal with. Titles getting lost, signatures getting whiteout, all these difficulties that make titles more bureaucratic, and it's the biggest reason that many of the clients have to deal with these title problems. Follow along for updates. It may take a year or two to get some of this through the works, but we're working very hard to make titling easy for you as a consumer or a dealership or an auction or a lender so that you don't have to face going to DMV, dealing with paperwork, dealing with forms. It can all be done electronically without the hassle of fighting through all kinds of runaround from your Department of Motor Vehicles.
