This is David from Active Intel Investigations. Today we're going to talk about using artificial intelligence in corporate security. AI is now the hot button type of tech that's used in all kinds of industries and it's very tempting to try to see how you can use that in the corporate security side. The first very common way to do this is distributed sensors right taking sensors that normally would be human based visual thermal may be movement and distribute them over different platforms not just have them all coming from a person.

The most important thing is to remember that sometimes intelligence or artificial technology is better used in the execution side not in the decision side so if you're gathering information or if you're using in a process you may not yet want to use artificial intelligence to make decisions you might want to use it to execute decisions and processes that are made by humans. It's okay to use it in the if-then type of logic where if the temperature gets to be this high then you turn on the thermostat or if there's this many people in the secured area then you contact a security person to go there so if then is okay but actual complex decisions you might want to keep with humans.

You want to leverage the intelligent strategy of your executives that you already have you could use technology to help give you Intel to make better decisions but I don't think that intelligence of technology is up to the standards of using it to make complex strategy decisions. A good example of a way not to use artificial intelligence in corporate security is the roving security guard a lot of the articles you see will have this you know white robot that walks around in a company that's kind of replaced as a security guard that has some advantages but it defeats the advantage of technology where you have it all in one place.

Instead of having all of the tech in one device that can only be in one place at one time distributing that tech over a wide area will keep you from putting all your money into one size object that can only cover one area. Use the technology to tedious tasks that have to be done over and over that a human may not do well over time also on rare tasks if there's a security event that pops up only occasionally that is one that you want to have be observed by technology not by a person because if it's a tedious task or if it's a rare task in between that event you're going to have low attention span by a human.

This is a huge opportunity to prevent injury and damage in a company and I think for your bottom line our official intelligence in corporate security will help reduce those costs injury and damage more than they will as a profit Center in the near future.
